Every artwork grows out of a web of themes, questions, tensions, memories, obsessions and contradictions. Long before a form, an image or an object becomes visible, these forces are at work in the background and shape the direction of the artistic work. They form the actual core of a project - yet they usually remain invisible. That is exactly where impact4artcore begins.

The software makes visible the themes that genuinely move an artist. What stands at the centre is not the finished work, but the inner landscape from which it emerges. This is not about documenting ideas, but about making visible their meaning, their proximity to one another and their effect within a larger whole.

Mind maps visualise connections. impact4artcore visualises meaning. Unlike mind maps, knowledge graphs or classic diagrams, impact4artcore does not work with nodes and arbitrary connecting lines. Such systems answer above all the question of which terms are linked to one another. For engaging with art that is often too little. Art rarely arises from clear hierarchies or unambiguous relationships. It arises from thematic force fields in which some thoughts dominate, others work in the background, and many influences overlay one another.

impact4artcore translates these relationships into a topographic landscape. Themes are arranged as centres on a surface. Out of their proximity, their weight and their relationships, a continuous field of meaning arises, from which contour lines, densities, transitions and regions are calculated. As on a geographical map, mountains, hills, valleys and landscape spaces appear. What becomes visible is not only which themes are present, but where meaning concentrates and which forces shape the overall picture.

This is precisely the particular quality of the contour and relief representation. Where a mind map separates individual terms and connects them with lines, the landscape makes the transitions between them visible. The spaces in between carry meaning just as the centres do. Several related themes can merge into a common region, tensions become experienceable as transitions, and thematic emphases emerge as densities. The representation shows not only relationships, but intensities.

A new form of reflection arises from this. Instead of cataloguing thoughts or organising knowledge, the inner geography of an artistic project becomes visible. Images, terms, ideas and questions can all be part of this landscape together. Their arrangement reveals connections that are often hard to describe in language, but immediately comprehensible in space.

AI generation

The landscape can also be developed further in dialogue with AI systems. Starting from the existing themes, new perspectives, missing aspects or alternative weightings can be proposed. The AI does not make artistic decisions; it offers prompts for further engagement. Control over content and statement remains with the artist at all times.

impact4artcore is neither a mind-mapping tool nor a knowledge graph. It is a tool for making visible the thematic gravity of an artistic project. It shows not only which themes exist, but what meaning they carry, how they influence one another, and out of which inner forces a work arises.
